I'm on a Roll...Rollin, rollin, rollin. Rawhide! I am definitely getting to be too old for my own good. Does anyone else remember that TV show from the sixties or was it the fifties? Just a mere 40 or 50 years ago. I keep going down memory lane as I finish projects. For example, Louise Gregoire’s Spring Frolic. It is pretty scary when my girlfriend Barb comments on when she remembers me buying the kit at the Creative Show eons ago. Doesn’t matter—it is done and now showcased in a frame donated by my sister years ago. Then about 7 years ago, when we first moved to 556 Upper James, I had started Jan Lynn’s Collecting Shells. It is also finished and hanging on the wall in a frame that I had stored in the back room. When I need space, the urge to complete kicks in and voila success! This picture takes me back about 24 years ago when Chris was playing on a beach in northern Italy. So cute and chubby. Don’t know what happened to her—all grown up and such a lady.In between the stitching and cleaning up for our annual Christmas in July sale, I come across stuff I had forgotten about. Did I really expect to stitch that piece? Funny how time will change your tastes and now you look at the stuff and shake your head. So you will finding great surprises in the reduced chart section. And in between the cleaning, ha ha like I clean, I have been ordering new charts and more threads. However I did manage to stitch Stoney Creek’s Believe and have it framed and hung in the store in less than 3 weeks. One of my better track records for completion. Of course, I didn’t clean or cook but the picture looks fantastic. Then I got bored and stitched a quick floral chart from Jean McIntosh #M-17 Pansies and from Bab’s #131 Violets. Now I am really rolling especially as I put the Christmas Village back on the back burner. Hopefully Flo will lend me hers for the sale. Thought that I had done so well, I decided to do Alice Godkin’s Poppy Bouquet. As I always want to prove good design can be done by any form of stitching—counted cross, petit point or needlepoint, we have used 32 count Natural linen with the recommended DMC and Anchor threads. This is definitely a winner because of everyone’s input. Now I just need to find time to stitch. Check out the progress of my latest WIP when you visit the store. What's NewThe Victoria Sampler has a new chart called Mystic Needlework Smalls with a seaside theme. Some of the projects include a needlebook, scissor’s case or fob plus the newest hot trend, a Mystic Biscornu.
