Double Barrelled Blazing Guns! It’s Annie get your gun. Have I got not one but two new toys to play with. One has the yellow 50% off labels and the other has big pricing with red labels at a whopping 75% off. Elly, Audrey and I have been cutting and packaging fabric like crazy. Just look below for those big big savings. Lucky for me Chris is away or she would be wondering about this sudden urge to clean. But then the joy of my life is returning from Atlanta and has asked for her space back. I guess that little path from the stairs to her bed just won’t do for her. She’ll be surprised to see how clean and neat the store is. The basement is another topic of discussion which continues as long as the World Turns.Back to the store, fabric flew off the shelves as it was being cut into minimum fat quarter sizes which took us about 3 weeks for cutting and about 10 boxes of baggies from Dollarama. We needed to save Audrey from the overflowing shelves of fabric. Not only did we joke about the fabric, we needed to use our math skills to ensure that the fabric cuts were usable. Then we tackled the chart bins. They were sooo packed that the charts were getting bent. Slap those yellow and red dots on. What a stash for everyone to go through. I do know that we are going to be using tables; note the plural, for all the sale items the customers will go through. Then I needed to reduce the amount of reference material that Joan had given me. Being me, I thought I was organized but I wasn’t. Not even close. So there are some very interesting reference books going for $ .99 each. As I am your eternal pack rat, this is certainly very tough. I do have to declutter and let go. It was difficult to make decisions as I fondled and reread the books for the BIG decision. Keep or sell. Plus I found a stack of brand new books from Joan’s inventory which have be marked down by 50% with my new yellow sticker gun. Plus I can reload the guns. Bonus! September is coming and Flo, our amazing teacher, has the new class schedule for the fall. This keeps me on my toes. I again need to make room for more seating as this past year was a resounding success. Back to the sale. Customers certainly like to gamble as they have asked for a repeat of the discount presents under the tree. Minimum discount starts at 15% off regular priced items. Plus Audrey and I created mysterious grab bags for $10 filled with various types of threads. Who knows what is in them as we sort of got lost in our production line. Surprise! Great for a scrapbooker or quilter. Jeannette DouglasJeannette Douglas, a Canadian designer, is coming to Hamilton on October 20th and 21st to teach the Hamilton sampler.
