And We're Off!
I still find it hard to believe that Christina has finished some projects {Christina 2, Michelle a BIG WHOOPING 0 *trumpets* presenting…. Crimson Fire, along with the Petit Sampler from Emie Bishop’s newest book, ladies and gentlemen} Crystal Waters is still in “creation” mode. But I like Thea Dueck’s newest Heart to Heart. NB: class in the fall, which will be stitched on a new fabric called *using a sultry voice* silk linen. However, let’s discuss Christina’s unfinished {but still ahead of mother NB: I’m still up one} masterpieces. Petit point charts—Gitta’s, Babs, Louise Grégoire, and Jean McIntosh . We now stock the silks in 22, 24, and 32 count. And new suppliers arriving. She discovered petit point…. Gitta’s Eskimos {they are soooooo cute!} maybe the husky will get done before university starts {is this a hint??? I think I’ll ignore it for now *grin*} I’m doing well {yeah, right} Dreams by Emie Bishop. Being the Stitch Queen is not an easy job… Let’s worry about me eating… {once again she will starve herself… BIG surprise… she doesn’t have to cook for me} Although I am finding new exciting companies to purchase more stitching goodies from. Run up that Visa bill {faster, faster… hey wait, where’d my turn go???} I just love auto mail. It is so exciting! One needs to come to the store on a regular basis. There is always constant change in the store… Oh, those Carons on the wall {down girl, down!} Need to order in more {*groans*} Do you know Christmas is only four months away? Has everybody started there presents… and have you ladies and gents updated your Wish List? Anyway, back to the BACK ROOM: the threads are hanging on the hooks - CARON, Gentle Art, YLI silks and ribbons plus Needle Necessities.And then Heidi arrived in town to arrange DMC’s new 36 colours in the front of the store. She just wanted to be the first to see the colours. Plus we have the latest metallics from DMC.

Thursday Night is...
STITCH TIME!! I refer to these nights as information exchange. Or show and brag. Well, I have been accused of not meeting my curfew since it has been imposed. Just can’t wait until Chris goes off to university {WOOHOO!!!!!! FREEDOM!!!!! [ps. Yes, I’m happy]}} and I AM ALL ALONE to do as I please. {I will still find out…} Enough about me and back to our Thursday night group– it has grown to warrant us adding a third table. Oh well, store some more inventory under the table. That was a big surprise as summer was starting and I thought that it would slow down. Thanks to all of you for showing me that I was wrong. However on the Q.T., everyone tells me that they are running away from both the husbands and the kids at home. Round of applause for: Edna who after one year finished her bell pull including the fancy sides and the bell pull ends. What can I say? I help everyone else and neglect my own stitchin’ {excuses, excuses… even I finished projects!}. Kathy is now getting ready to design a piece for her son’s wedding happening in mid 2000. Jan decided to do Ross’s Zebra after seeing Cathy’s and is moving along very quickly. Dixie is amazing as she works along on her ship the Victory plus any other project which she feels compelled to stitch. Brenda started a new John Clayton called Ford Way and we love the tweeding of the blues and greens in the sky. Mary Ann continues to entertain as she keeps us all in stitches {*groan*… bad pun} along with her accomplices {in crime?} Anne, Dianne and Elly. Sometimes I think that they all gang up on me to make sure I eat instead of stitch or surf the ‘Net {good for them! Her surf the ‘Net??? Hello, who are you and what have you done with my mother?? [NB: she can’t even connect to the internet]}. Lou still comes with her gun case and the house is slowly getting stitched. However I notice that her and Edna talk in whispers. Best evening was when Maria brought her tiny precious wonder – child # 4 – her first daughter, Andrea Isabella for us to hold and look at her in awe – Plus we discovered that while in labour she stitched. We were really impressed by her control. There was no husband bashing for her. We are concerned since she bought the back issues of 1999 Stoney Creek magazines plus the Teddy Bear Afghan to stitch. Gwen, my old (FORMER) neighbour, talks about needing a road map {not that Mum can read one} to navigate the basement of my house and store. Dianne talks in hushed whispers about being DOWN THERE. Elly continues to amaze us - Jennifer got married in June (and the Wedding was done almost 2 months in advance), a grandson born in June, another grandson born in July and grandchild #12 {yes, 12… no, we [I] didn’t make a typing error} expected in early September. I got to take care of the store while Elly was on vacation. So there were some days that I arrived after 10 o’clock. I did try my best and no I didn’t bring my lunch. Fridays I depend upon Dianne. The store is still there although I did change things around— you must see the new dark blue blinds on the windows {guess who got to use brute force to put in the screws when SOMEONE [no names needed] forgot to recharge the power drill - both power drills, I might add :Þ }, they were such a bargoon on sale I couldn’t resist {she made three trips out to BouClair in one day}. Didn’t have time to discuss parking with relation to perfect stitches. I’m exhausted. {HER????}
