The Hamilton
Sampler
As a tribute to my hometown, Hamilton, has been illustrated through a sampler designed by renowned Canadian needlework designer Jeanette Douglas.
At the top, the Skyway bridge showcases the rows of nature by the squirrels, birds, apples, and nuts throughout the sampler. The vibrant colours of fall are glistening through a row of quilted maple leaves.
The chrysanthemum, Hamilton's official flower, becomes very vibrant by the one-over-one stitch. The beauty of the parks and the Royal Botanical Gardens is illustrated by the various types of trees and flowers.
The architecture around the city, particularly that of the Gowling Building, is accurately reproduced using the one-over-one stitch. The shimmering reds and golds of the Bargello stitch represent the hot molten steel of the manufacturing sector.
At the bottom, ducks and geese swim in a soft curve representing the Golden Horseshoe.

The sampler kit includes all the specialty threads, beads, charms, and your choice of either 28 or 32 count Platinum linen.

A beautifully appointed store with the relaxed atmosphere of an art gallery. We welcome any suggestions and our courteous, knowledgeable staff are willing to help you with any problem. Our store has undergone dramatic changes from when we opened our doors in March 1998 to the present. We initially started with kits but with customers' comments and suggestions, our inventory now includes unusual charts, specialty fabrics, a variety of threads, and embellishments. Elly and Michelle love to play detective and find the unusual for our customers.
